Pizza, pizza, uh, pizza?

Good Morning and are you getting fired up for the Phillies yet?

I've always kind of wondered if there were more bars or pizza places in Delaware County. Can you really go anywhere around here without running into one or both or, sometimes, both at the same place.
A pizza place went out of business near my house and was replaced, yep, by another pizza place.
Now, for the most part, I think they are all pretty good. Sure, there are subtle differences in the sauce (or gravy, if you prefer). When feeding teens and pre-teens, well, those little things don't really matter.
I have a couple of favorites, but it's mostly out of convenience rather than anything else.
Earlier this week, Pica's Pizza in Upper Darby made a spot appearance on the Tonight Show.
It got a lot of reaction.
It fostered a lot of debate.
So, a thought popped into my head (yeah, it happens every once in a while): Where is the best pizza in Delaware County?
Well, we've taken the nominees and will be breaking them down over the next couple of days. Monday will be the start of Delco Pizza Madness. So, get your taste-buds (and voting fingers) ready.
For now, there's this:

Rise and Shine --- Pizza with mice?

Good Morning and welcome back to the insider space!

So, I'm wondering this morning how it's possible to go to bed early, sleep through the night and still be exhausted the next morning. Man, that coffee can't brew quick enough.
You know, ever since moving to Delaware County, I've always wondered about the number of pizza places. There are pizza joints right next to each other on some blocks. Others are across the street from each other.
The competition is, obviously, crazy. Just think about how many of those pizza menus are left at your door each week.
With that much dough being tossed around (do they still do that?), it's obvious each pizza shop needs to distinguish itself from the rest.
Still, taking mice into a rival's shop is going a bit overboard.
How about trying something different in you shop? How about branching out and changing the menu around? How about making it a fun place to come?
No, this joker decided to do it the easy way and try to sabotage his neighbor.
Maybe it tells you all you need to know about pizza shop owners.

RISE AND SHINE

GOOD MORNING, DELAWARE COUNTY!

Had a fun night Thursday night attending a birthday party at noted home improvement store Chuck E. Cheese's.
With the exception of the volume being way too loud during the anammotronic band performance, it was need to see children running around playing games, laughing and having fun.
Now that there aren't arcades in malls anymore and video games are increasingly violent at home, it's nice to take a break some times and just let loose.
A real interesting thing, though, was the most popular game for the party goers appeared to be skee ball.
That's right, the old boardwalk game where you roll heavy balls up a ramp and attempt to get them into the highest scoring holes.
There was one 6-year old who couldn't get enough of the game. He would have stayed at there all night, pumping fake coins into the slot, just to keep rolling the balls. It didn't matter what the score ended up or even if the ball went up the correct lane. Just grab the next and let loose.
Way back when, the restaurant, which, ironically is an offshoot of the Atari company, used to have a couple of video games and some bad pizza.
While, the food remains the same, it now becomes an event with games and even a ball pit and a climbing maze.
It's not something you can do every day, but, once in a while, is pretty fun.
Now, if they can just improve those prizes...
