Rise and Shine --- President's Day?

Good Morning and welcome to another mid-winter holiday!

Or something like that. Back in the day, President's Day, I'm sure was a big day. Actually, it was Washington's Birthday. Then somebody thought to honor Abe Lincoln, who's birthday was last week. So, instead of having two 'holiday's' within a week, we've combined Washington and Lincoln into 'President's Day.'
For those who really don't know much about the 'holiday' they might think it is to honor all the presidents. While some are surely worth honoring, we don't really need a George Bush Day anytime soon.
Still, with the exception of schools being off and federal workers getting a holiday, what does 'President's Day' really mean.
Mostly, it's a chance for our battered retailers to hold 'President Day Sales.' Every retailer has a 'President's Day Sale.' You can get mattresses, coats, shoes, diapers, food. Anything you want 'on sale.' Really, though, these sales are just repackaging of prices already in effect. So, maybe you'll head to the mall today or maybe you'll go out and cut down a cherry tree.
How about this for President's Day: Let's all call our elected officials and make the accountable for the decisions they make. Then we can all put on wigs and stove pipe hats and read the Constitution.
