Rise and Shine --- Water. It's always water

Good Morning and I don't care if it's raining, the sun is shining!

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. A nice breeze was blowing. Everybody was having a good time.
Then the water guns came out and everything changed.
Sure, the girls of the Pink Ladies softball team were laughing and chasing each other around, but the water was getting perilously close to the parents.
Watching the water being sprayed (and dumped) on and between screaming children is one thing. It's entirely another thing to get it on the table, because then you'll be in trouble.
Well, fun trouble, anyway. In previous parties, once the adults started getting sprayed, the hose came out. Think you're wet now? Oh, you don't know wet.
This time, the water stayed on the children (for the most part). I guess there is a certain age where walking around in wet clothes is fun.
For some reason, though, no matter the temperature or the sun, the water makes an appearance.
Oh, well, I guess it could be worse.

Rise and Shine --- Wah, wah, wah

Good Morning and welcome back to the heat!

So, why do we first complain about the cold, then turn around and complain about the heat? Probably because we like to complain.
I mean, really, really complain. Walk into any place of business and you will hear people complaining. Heck, walk into the newsroom here at the Daily Times and you'll start complaining through osmosis.
We complain about the water. We complain about the computers. We complain when the air conditioners are on, we complain when the heat is on.
I'm sure it's not just a phenomenon here in the grand ol' US of A, but it sure seems like we like to complain, a lot.
I was in a store the other day and a couple of employees were complaining that there were only powdered doughnuts left. It wasn't just disappointment either. This was a full out complaint, the person even was threatening to quit over the disservice.
While working a few years ago in a department store, somebody actually complained when they had to help a customer. Wait a minute, isn't that your job?
Less you think I'm taking on just the workplace, I've heard a myriad of complaints about breakfast/lunch/dinner over the last few years. Now, come on, what's exactly wrong with tuna casserole?
Anyway, one complaint you won't hear is from me. Thanks for reading.

Rise and Shine --- It's in the water

Good Morning and I'm still wondering why I was 'unfriended' on Facebook over health care issues!?!

So, there's a big stink coming out of Philadelphia about a proposed tax on soda. Many are up in arms the city would try to extract a few cents from those who like the taste of high fructose corn syrup.
Don't like the tax, drink water. It's better for you anyway.
There are more than enough studies that show how bad soda really is for your system.
Sure, it tastes good sometimes, but it's really just hollow calories posing as a drink.
Soda causes obesity, tooth decay, kidney decay and heart problems. Do a search. It's all out there.
Yes, there have been plenty of times where I enjoyed a cold Coca-Cola. Just think about it, though, do you really feel any better after drinking one?
