Gardening without a green thumb

Good Morning and can you believe it's almost Memorial Day?

So, I got the flowers and tomatoes all planted last week. I even picked up all the right fertilizer and dirt this year.
A week into growing, the plants haven't died yet. I call that a good season.
See, I have the opposite of a green thumb. I could take the heartiest plant and shrink it to nothing in a few weeks.
Heck, I've even had a cactus die on me and you don't have to do anything to a cactus.
This year, though, is going to be different. I'm going to water the plants. I'm going to make sure the rabbits (where did they all come from) don't eat the leaves.
I'm confident in my work.
Now, if only I could get a few tomatoes to actually ripen.

Rise and Shine -- On the grill

Good Morning and I can stand the heat!

So, every spring when I first fire up the grill, I can't wait to get the hot dogs and burgers going. Then, as the summer approaches, it's time to get maybe some corn on there as well.
By July, though, the burgers and hot dogs are no longer so exciting.
This year, it's time to try other things.
This past weekend, pineapple and peaches have shown up on the fire. The result was a fruit that became extra-sweet. Tasty enough, in fact, to become dessert.
This weekend, veggies and, oh no, pizza.

RISE AND SHINE

GOOD MORNING, DELAWARE COUNTY!

Is there anything worse than a spring cold? The sun is shining bright, the temperatures are nice and warm and your head is so stuffed up you can barely walk straight.
The nights, of course, are a chore. Going from sweating to chills sometimes every hour can play havoc with your body. So, when what you really need is a good night's sleep, you instead are moving all over the place.
Finally, the morning comes and the whole things starts over again. The sneezing, coughing, achy muscles. Forget it.
OK, there are certainly worse things in this world than a spring cold. Just look at Philadelphia right now to see that, but it does stink to have one of these things.
Of course, in our house, it spreads from one to the other, then starts the cycle all over again.
Excuse me while I have a sneezing attack.
